Our Instructors & Staff Members

Our staff members have spent many years devoted to pursuing excellence in their field and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as instructors and trainers. Through extensive training, certification and dedication, our staff has attained mastery in their fields and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to our members. Here are a few of Dazzle Dance & Cheer's staff members:

Betsy Curry, began her Dazzle career in 2004 and has been owner and artistic director since 2011. She started dancing at the age of 6 and spent 12 years training in jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, tumbling, modern, lyrical, pointe, acting, and voice with the Dance Magic Performing Arts Company in Indianapolis. Betsy attended Ball State University as a dance major.

At Ball State, she was a member of the Ball State Dance Theatre and performed and choreographed for numerous shows. Betsy continues her dance training through the guest artists Dazzle brings in and going to conventions. Through the years, Betsy’s students have won numerous award regionally and nationally.


Julie SizemoreJulie Sizemore founded Dazzle Dance & Cheer in 1996 and continues to be a key member of the Dazzle teaching staff. Julie has been teaching dance for over 25 years. Her students have achieved the highest honors, both regionally and nationally. Julie also has many theatrical credits including choreography and performance in the musicals Grease, Hello Dolly, The Sound of Music, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Annie, South Pacific, and Tommy - just to name a few!

Julie received a Bachelors Degree in Telecommunications and Marketing from Ball State University. Certified by Dance Educators of America, Julie has trained in Denver, Los Angeles, and New York with numerous choreographers of the stars from both stage and screen.


Laura DuBois joined the Dazzle staff in 2001. She currently works as an LPN at Open Door Health Services. She started dancing at the age of 3 and at the age of 5 began dancing competitively. As a member of her dance company, Laura appeared twice on the nationally televised Showstopper Dance Championships. In the summer of 2003, she trained in the New York Stage Originals Program. She has also trained with professionals from dance conventions such as CoDance, Hollywood Connection, and Hollywood Vibe. She has two daughters, Anna and Adalyn, and a son, Adam.


April Morrison can hardly believe she has been teaching at Dazzle since 2001! April began dancing at the age of three and did so competitively for ten years. She has appeared on the Showstopper National Television Show twice and choreographed productions of Once Upon a Mattress and The King and I at Yorktown High School. She has also been the dance coordinator of the Frankton Jr/Sr High School color guard team. April is the proud mom of her two wonderful children, Isla and Declan.


Amanda HughesAmanda Hughes began dancing at the age of 4 and danced competitively for over 8 years. She trained in tap, jazz, and ballet. She had the honor of appearing on the Showstopper National Television Show in her competitive years. She also performed for a cruise ship line and in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. In her later years she found a new passion for cheer and tumbling, and cheered all through middle school and high school.

After high school, she taught dance and coached the Dazzle All Star Cheerleading squads at Dazzle for 6 years. During a short move after she married her husband Brandon, she coached cheerleading and tumbling for Indiana Elite for 2 years. After starting a family of her own she then moved back and has returned to Dazzle. She is a proud mother of her beautiful daughter Ava and her son Aiden.


Olivia LeeOlivia Lee is currently attending Ball State University double minoring in business management and family relations. She began her training at Dazzle where she learned and excelled in the styles of tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, and pointe while representing the studio on its competitive dance team.

In 2013, Olivia started focusing on the styles of ballet and pointe where she privately trained with a Russian ballet master, Vladimir Stadnik. During that time, she performed classical variations from the ballets Giselle and Sleeping Beauty. She has been teaching at Dazzle since 2015 and has loved having the opportunity to share her love for ballet with her students.


Kristin LunsfordKristen Lunsford is currently a student at Ball State University double majoring in Elementary Education and Special Education. She started gymnastics when she was 2 and started competitive gymnastics when she was 5 years old. She continued to compete up until she was 17 years old. She started at level 3 and retired at level 9. She competed in many competitions, and each year qualified for State finals.

When she was level 7, she qualified for state and then went on to regionals. She continued to compete at a regional level through level 9. She started coaching competitive gymnastics at Top Flight Athletics in Greensburg, IN at 17 years old and fell in love with the coaching side of it. Since then she has become USAG certified and looks forward to continuing to share her knowledge with her students.



Rachael MaullerRachael Mauller is currently attending Ball State University, with a major in Speech Language Pathology. She began dancing competitively at the age of three and moved to Dazzle during her 8th grade year to further her training. She has trained in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, and pointe. During her sophomore year of high school she started as a student apprentice and assisted in teaching jazz, tap, and lyrical classes. Rachael also danced on the Yorktown High School Dance Team all through her high school career. She is currently a member of the BSU Rhythms Dance Troupe.


Jenna MinierJenna Minier has been teaching at Dazzle since 2015. She is currently enrolled at Ball State University studying social work with a minor in women and gender studies. Jenna was a competitive gymnast from ages 3-6, then switched to cheerleading. She enjoyed competing across the nation as a cheerleader from age 7 through 16. The teams she competed with garnered many titles through those years. Along with competitive cheer, Jenna also participated in her middle and high school cheer squads. She enjoys passing on her knowledge of gymnastics and cheer in a fun and safe class environment.


Jerika SchultzJerika Schultz is a graduate of Ivy Tech Community College with her Associate of Science in Elementary Education. She is continuing her education toward her teaching degree at Ball State University. After being on Dazzle’s competitive dance team for 10 years, she has made the shift to teaching and sharing her knowledge with the next generation of Dazzle dancers. Jerika trained in the styles of tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and pointe, and has had the opportunity to travel and compete in places such as Chicago, Virginia, and Florida.


Rachel SmithRachel Smith is beginning her first year (2017) teaching at Dazzle Dance and Cheer. She previously taught first grade at Wes-Del Elementary and was with the school system for ten years. Currently, she is the 3-4 teacher at Hazelwood Christian Preschool in Muncie. Along with teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family. She is married to her husband, Jarrod, and has two children, Ally and Drew. Growing up, Rachel began her competitive dance career at Cole Academy before switching to Dazzle Dance and Cheer. She began dancing at the age of 3 and traveled with the dance companies all over the world at both the regional and national level.

Among winning several titles, one of her biggest achievements was when she placed in the top three overall at Showstoppers National Dance Championships in a duet/trio, and top five with a small group. She then went on to place first overall at Premier Dance Competition Nationals with the duet/trio. She was a cheerleader at Yorktown MS and HS, and was the captain her senior year.

In college, she was a member of the Ball State University Code Red Dance Team for 4 years, also serving as captain her senior year. After graduation, she coached and choreographed for the Code Red Dance Team for 2 years. She feels extremely blessed to have the opportunity to jump back into the dance world.


Katie Lee is currently attending Ball State University studying Zoology, Wildlife Biology Conservation, and Aquatic Biology. She competed for her High School and for Cheer Fusion and has won several National titles. Katie also cheered for Ball State University during her Freshman year. She has been coaching tumbling and competitive cheer for over 5 years and loves to see her students gain new skills and keep aiming higher.


Shelby CrouseShelby Crouse is attending Ball State University and is studying Music Education. Shelby began her dance career at Dazzle when she was 3 and began competitive dance at the age of 5. She danced competitively up through high school graduation and also danced for the Delta High School Dance Squad for 3 years. Shelby is looking forward to continuing to share of love of dance and performance with her students.


Kaitlyn EwingKaitlyn Ewing is a senior Ball State student from Shelbyville, IN majoring in Hospitality and Food Management. She has been dancing since the age of 3. She continued to dance in college as a member of the Ball State University Code Red Dance Team for three years and served as captain for one. During her time with the team they competed in UDA Nationals in the hip hop 1A division for the first time in program history. She also is a part of the Outlet Hip Hop Troupe at Ball State that recently won the Red Bull Bracket Reel national dance and video competition and got to travel to Las Vegas to work with Ronnie Abaldonado (Super Cr3w). Kaitlyn has experience in hip hop, jazz, pom, and tap and this is her first year teaching at Dazzle.
